SOCIAL MEDIA REVOLUTION
No matter what business or service you’re pushing, this form of self promotion is a growing revolution. A revolution in that this social media phenomenon has made it all so easy to market oneself to literally the world and do it within seconds. But that ease of communicating comes about by making a truly hard commitment. The dedicated daily blogger grinding out good quality content for the reader has made that commitment to develop their topics to be more than merely eyewash and space filler. I have learned so much in the past three months of watching my wife (winedinnerparty.com) and my daughter (escapingthe9to5.com) among others research, photograph, build story lines, create and develop websites and blog-spots. I remember someone in the early 90’s saying that someday newspapers will be passé. I agree that could very easily be the case but readers will still be searching out news, information and an array of articles targeted to their own interests. All of those early bloggers who are working to grow their craft and market themselves via Internet will be so far ahead of those who are still analyzing just what they want to say in their blogs.
STAY THE COURSE
My feeling is that for anyone, no matter what their age, once you commit, stay the course throughout your blog development. You will be amazed at what you can write about and the content you can produce. But even more amazing is when you open your blog one day to find responses and requests from readers half a world away who share your ideas and interests or, better yet, have learned something from your blog post. It will be one of the best ways to make our diverse world smaller and more attentive to us as bloggers. See if you can go for one year and look back at what you have accomplished in that short time. You will find your abilities and skills will have grown and your appreciation for this technology has become not only consuming, but interesting , fun, enjoyable and profitable for you and your readers.
